About Me

HappyI love being outside, especially on a windy day. I love fishing, hiking, camping, dancing, and skiing. I do not, however, like windy days when I’m skiing, fishing, hiking, or setting up a tent. I really like driving (unless there’s a ton of traffic). I speak Spanish fluently. I love reading. I could read all day long. I’m interested in computers and technology. On a computer I can read longer than all day long. Without computers I would be living as a vagabond deep in the… wait, no I wouldn’t. Computers are great, but they’re not my life (though I doubt anyone that knows me well would believe that).

I don’t go see many movies. I’d rather dance. Traveling is really fun. I like to think of myself as a photographer, but then I look at the photos that real photographers take and I realize that my little Canon PowerShot SD400 just isn’t enough. Never mind all that camera focal length exposure knowledge they have. I just push a button and hope it turns out well.

I hear that most Americans would rather die than speak in front of an audience. Strange though it may seem, you can number me among the weirdos that would rather talk to a bunch of people than die. “Public speaking” is really fun.

I’m really good at sleeping in. I have been known, at least twice a week, to push snooze on my alarm clock for anywhere from 1-5 hours. If sleeping in was a lucrative profession, I would be the Bill Gates of it. I wrote a little alarm program for my computer, which I use to blast music from my speakers at the time I desire to wake up. My sister, who also loves to sleep in, told me “that’s the loudest alarm I have ever heard.” The alarm does remarkably well at getting me out of bed. In fact, the speed with which I usually jump out of bed is akin to that of a butterfly attached to a bowling ball dropped from an airplane. What’s even more remarkable is that I turn the alarms off (after typing in 1-2 passwords) only to get back in bed. I am improving though! Really! It goes in cycles, but I am improving.

I am a developer for Portero in New York City. I haven’t updated my software for a really long time. It’s doubtful I ever will.
